A celebration of love and togetherness, gently unfolding in the stillness of the Carpathians
A wedding at Zabola is not just an event — it is a passage. A gathering of people, time, and place. Framed by forests and lakes, and held within centuries-old grounds, each celebration unfolds gently, over three days of connection, nature, and quiet joy.
Friday: A Warm Welcome
The weekend begins beneath the stars. A relaxed evening with an open fire, traditional dishes, kürtőskalács, music — and the kind of conversations that only happen when people truly arrive. Friends and family gather, laugh, and settle into the rhythm of the estate.
Saturday: A Day of Celebration
After a slow, shared breakfast, guests are free to explore the estate at their own pace. Bear watching, carriage rides, horseback trails, forest walks, cycling, a forest sauna, spa rituals, or simply sitting beneath the trees. For children, thoughtful activities offer delight and discovery.
While guests unwind, the bridal party prepares in the castle’s vintage make-up room — a space filled with antique mirrors, soft music, and a table of fruit, coffee, juice, and Prosecco. It is a moment of quiet beauty before the celebration begins.
Ceremonies — civil or religious — may be held on the estate or in the nearby village church. Afterwards, a welcome drink greets the guests, while the couple shares time for portraits with loved ones. A professional photographer is present throughout the day, from the first preparations to the cutting of the cake.
The Wedding Dinner
Held in The Old Stables, the evening meal is slow and celebratory — four or five courses reflecting your tastes and the spirit of the place.
• The Large Hall hosts up to 140 guests
• The Small Hall welcomes 40–50 guests
• The arched terrace offers a beautiful option for dining or lounging under cover
Dancing can begin indoors or under the open sky, with the celebration continuing until 2 AM
Sunday: A Gentle Farewell
The weekend closes with a slow brunch from 9:00 to 11:00 — ideally enjoyed on the Castle Terrace as the morning light returns to the meadows and the estate settles into stillness once more.
